Hamas has called on Arab and Muslim leaders meeting in Riyadh for a summit on Monday to establish an international Arab-Islamic alliance aimed at pressuring Israel and its supporters to halt the ongoing war in Gaza and Lebanon, which Hamas describes as a “war of genocide.”
In a message delivered to the summit participants on Sunday, Hamas urged the formation of the alliance to focus on lifting the siege on Gaza and ensuring that Palestinians can exercise their right to self-determination. The movement advocates for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Hamas expressed a willingness to engage with any proposals that would lead to an end to Israeli aggression, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes. It also emphasized that any ceasefire should involve the provision of humanitarian aid, the rebuilding of Gaza, and a comprehensive prisoner swap deal.
The group called for immediate efforts to provide relief and shelter to Gaza’s population, particularly as winter begins. Hamas also urged Arab and Islamic nations to boycott Israel, revoke agreements with the country, and work to isolate it in the international community.
Additionally, Hamas demanded that international legal action be taken against Israeli war crimes, particularly in countries where Israeli officials may travel.
The message also highlighted that the Israeli war on Gaza has now surpassed 400 days, recalling decisions made at the previous summit on November 11, 2023, regarding the situation in Gaza. (ILKHA)
