Hamas: Gaza City occupation plan signals new wave of genocide

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has issued a strong warning against the latest Israeli military intentions, describing the approval of plans to invade Gaza City as a declaration of “a new wave of brutal genocide and mass displacement” targeting hundreds of thousands of civilians.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas condemned the announcement by the Israeli army’s Chief of Staff to accelerate operations in Gaza City, stressing that this step represents “a blatant war crime” and an extension of the genocidal campaign that has been waged against the Palestinian people for nearly two years.
“This criminal declaration reflects the clearest image of Israel’s arrogance, its contempt for international law, and its determination to continue the genocidal war under a criminal American cover and amid shameful international silence,” Hamas said.
The movement warned that Israel’s so-called “humanitarian arrangements,” such as the introduction of tents in southern Gaza, are nothing but “a deceptive cover-up for a monstrous crime” of forced displacement. It noted that even the United Nations has rejected these measures, stating that they lack the most basic humanitarian standards and amount to the weaponization of aid to achieve political and military objectives.
Hamas also highlighted the connection between the aggression in Gaza and escalating repression in the occupied West Bank, where daily military raids, armed settler assaults, and the burning of Palestinian property continue unabated. These actions, it said, are part of the unified Zionist project aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their land and advancing the Judaization of Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The statement further accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government of openly pursuing a project of so-called “Greater Israel,” designed to expand at the expense of neighboring Arab states including Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.
“This dangerous scheme,” Hamas stressed, “requires urgent support for the Palestinian people and their resistance, which stand as the first line of defense for Arab and Islamic nations against Zionist ambitions.”
The resistance movement emphasized the need for a united Palestinian national stance to forge a comprehensive resistance strategy. It also urged Arab and Islamic states to abandon silence and take decisive steps against what it described as a “fascist Zionist entity” that poses a direct threat not only to Palestine, but to the wider region and its peoples.
