HAMAS: Israeli bill to execute Palestinian prisoners exposes its fascist nature
The Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) has condemned the Israeli Knesset’s National Security Committee for approving and advancing a draft law that would permit the execution of Palestinian prisoners accused of carrying out operations against Israel, describing the move as a “blatant reflection of the occupation’s fascist and racist mentality.”
In a statement released on Monday, November 3, 2025, HAMAS said that “the submission of this law to the Knesset for a first reading exposes the ugly face of the Zionist occupation,” stressing that such measures “constitute a grave violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Third Geneva Convention.”
The movement called on the United Nations, international community, and human rights organizations to act urgently to halt “this barbaric act,” to form international committees to visit Israeli detention centers, and to expose “the ongoing atrocities committed against Palestinian detainees under the supervision of occupation authorities.”
HAMAS also renewed its call for the immediate release of all Palestinian prisoners, particularly in light of reports and leaked footage showing torture, sexual assault, and other inhumane practices at the notorious Sde Teyman military prison in the Negev desert.
According to Israeli media, the Knesset National Security Committee approved the bill—proposed by far-right “National Security Minister” Itamar Ben-Gvir—to authorize death sentences for Palestinian detainees involved in “security operations.” The proposal specifically targets members of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of HAMAS, who have been held in military detention without trial since October 2023.
If enacted, the bill would mark the first official Israeli law permitting the death penalty for Palestinians since the founding of the occupation regime, further entrenching its apartheid and repressive system.
HAMAS emphasized that the initiative reflects “the extremist, genocidal nature of the Israeli government” and warned that any attempt to implement executions against prisoners “will be met with severe consequences.”
The movement urged the international community to take concrete measures, not only by condemning Israel’s violations but also by imposing sanctions and demanding accountability before international courts. (ILKHA)
