Hamas: No official response yet to latest Gaza ceasefire proposal

Senior Hamas official Dr. Basem Naim confirmed Sunday evening that the Palestinian resistance movement has not yet received any official response to the latest ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip, despite the movement’s clear willingness to end the aggression and protect civilian lives.
Naim stressed that while the resistance has agreed to the most recent proposal, the occupation regime continues to stall, hiding behind media leaks and political maneuvering. “We are seeing some media leaks about the enemy rejecting the partial deal and insisting on a comprehensive agreement, supported by a complicit US administration. The clearest expression of this is the statement by their ambassador to the entity, Mike Huckabee, the so-called messianic envoy,” Naim said.
He added that neither new offers nor official replies have been presented to Hamas, exposing what he described as Tel Aviv’s deliberate policy of evasion. Naim directly accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his “fascist government” of using the war in Gaza as a tool to prolong his political survival and impose extremist ideological goals.
“Netanyahu wants the war to continue in order to protect himself and his coalition and to fulfill his messianic aspirations, not only in Gaza, but across the entire region,” he said.
The Hamas official underlined that the resistance has done everything necessary to facilitate a ceasefire agreement and remains committed to negotiations with a spirit of national responsibility. “We are fully prepared to reach a ceasefire, with open minds and with the Palestinian people’s interests at the forefront,” he emphasized.
Naim also noted that the occupation has repeatedly resorted to escalation, war, and destruction over the past 22 months but has failed in every attempt to achieve its declared objectives. Instead, he said, the aggressions have only brought “death, devastation, and suffering upon innocent civilians,” serving nothing but “messianic ambitions and chauvinistic psychology.”
As Gaza endures yet another cycle of Israeli violence, Hamas insists that the world must hold the Netanyahu government accountable for obstructing peace and prolonging the bloodshed. (ILKHA)
