Hezbollah denies Israeli claims of senior commander assassination

Hezbollah firmly denied Israeli claims on Tuesday that senior commander Hajj Ali Karaki had been assassinated, calling the reports "false."
In an official statement, Hezbollah emphasized: “The claims of the Zionist enemy regarding the assassination of brother Ali Karaki are false. The commander is alive and well, and he has been transported to a safe place.”
The denial comes amid heightened Israeli aggression against Lebanon, including a recent airstrike on Beirut's southern suburb of Bir al-Abed. Local sources reported that four missiles hit a building in the area, though not all detonated. Initial reports indicate that seven people were injured in the attack. This marks the second strike on the Southern Suburb within two days. On Friday, an Israeli airstrike targeted an eight-story residential building, resulting in 51 deaths, with dozens more wounded and several still missing beneath the rubble.
Simultaneously, Israeli airstrikes have devastated various towns and villages across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. According to preliminary figures, 356 people have been killed and 1,246 injured since the attacks began.
Rescue and civil defense teams are working around the clock to clear the rubble and transport casualties from the widespread Israeli bombardments, which continue to ravage Lebanon’s southern regions. The situation has prompted growing fears of a broader escalation in the ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
