Istanbul gears up for Mawlid Al Nabi celebration at Bağcılar Square

Final preparations are complete for the Mawlid Al Nabi celebration, organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, set to take place today at Bağcılar Square in Istanbul.
The event, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad, is expected to draw large crowds for a day of spiritual reflection and solidarity.
After weeks of citywide announcements and promotional activities, organizers have finalized arrangements at the event venue. Crews have been working around the clock, with updates shared during a special broadcast on Rehber TV. Ercan Vergili, Marmara Coordinator for the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, spoke to Ilke News Agency about the extensive efforts. “Alhamdulillah, after a month of preparations across Istanbul, particularly in Bağcılar and surrounding areas, we are ready for tomorrow’s gathering,” Vergili said.
This year’s celebration carries a poignant theme: “Resistance Leader Prophet Muhammad.” Vergili highlighted its significance, stating, “In light of the ongoing jihad in Gaza, where our brothers and sisters face oppression from Israel and America, we want to send a clear message: they are not alone. Our support is unwavering, and this event is a testament to that commitment.” He expressed hope that the gathering would foster resilience and unity among Muslims, adding, “Inshallah, Bağcılar Square will be filled with enthusiasm as we deliver our message to Türkiye and the world.”
To ensure accessibility, the foundation has arranged free shuttle services from various Istanbul districts, complemented by convenient public transportation options.
The Mawlid Al Nabi event is scheduled to begin at 14:00 today, promising a deeply meaningful and spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees. (ILKHA)
