Iranian FM slams IAEA for legitimizing Israeli hostility

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the continuation of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, calling them "unjustifiable" while the Israeli regime continues its brutal assault on the region, fully supported by the U.S.
In a phone call with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Araghchi stressed that the ongoing aggression by the Zionist regime is a direct consequence of Washington's unwavering backing. He reaffirmed that Iran has responded with strength and resolve, firmly defending its national sovereignty, citizens, and territorial integrity.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not stand idle while the Zionist regime perpetrates atrocities against the people of the region under the protection of its Western allies," Araghchi said. He emphasized Iran’s right under international law to take necessary and proportional countermeasures in the face of aggression.
The Iranian foreign minister called on the EU and members of the UN Security Council to uphold justice and international responsibility by condemning Israeli war crimes and holding the occupying regime accountable for its continued violations.
Araghchi also denounced the latest anti-Iran resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), describing it as a politically motivated move intended to legitimize Israeli hostility towards Iran.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas voiced concern over the escalating situation and expressed the Union's readiness to support diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring peace and stability in the region. (ILKHA)
