A significant development in healthcare has arrived in Bamyan with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art 120-bed specialized hospital.
The facility, which is set to transform medical access in the region, boasts dedicated departments for surgery, heart and kidney transplants, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, general internal medicine, obstetrics, and intensive care.
The project was made possible through financial support from the Islamic Republic of Iran, which provided $42 million to cover both the operational costs and the procurement of advanced medical equipment. Saboor Farzan Sighani, the spokesperson for the Bamyan governor, announced the completion of the hospital and emphasized its importance for the region.
“This hospital is a crucial step in providing advanced and specialized healthcare services to the residents of Bamyan and surrounding provinces,” Sighani stated.
Local residents have expressed great enthusiasm about the new facility, eagerly anticipating its official opening and the commencement of medical services. The community expects that improved healthcare access will significantly enhance the quality of life for many people in the region, addressing longstanding challenges in medical infrastructure.
Authorities will provide further details on the hospital’s operational schedule and the range of services offered as the facility prepares to open its doors. This new hospital represents a major boost for healthcare in Bamyan and is seen as a model for future investments aimed at improving medical care in remote regions of Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
