Islamic Emirate reaffirms commitment to non-aggression towards Pakistan

The Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Zabihullah Mujahid, issued a clarification on Monday regarding recent discussions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, stressing that the remarks made during the talks do not constitute a formal joint declaration.
Mujahid explained that while both nations reached a mutual understanding to avoid hostility, no official communiqué or binding statement was released following the discussions.
A central point of the clarification concerned the interpretation of a sentence reportedly stating: “No support will be given to groups that carry out attacks against the Pakistani government.” Mujahid underscored that this reflects the IEA’s longstanding policy that Afghan soil will not be used to target any other nation and that the Islamic Emirate does not support offensive operations against any country.
“The Islamic Emirate has always maintained this position and remains committed to it,” Mujahid said. “The essence of the agreement is that both sides will refrain from any form of aggression against one another, which is a highly significant point.”
Observers note that the clarification comes amid regional interest in Afghanistan-Pakistan relations and ongoing security concerns along the border. Mujahid’s statement reinforces the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to peaceful relations while clarifying misinterpretations of the discussions in the media. (ILKHA)
