According to local sources, Israeli troops—assisted by masked Syrian collaborators—conducted a series of overnight raids targeting alleged Iranian-linked individuals, many of whom are said to have had past associations with the former Syrian government. Disturbingly, six people, including a child, were reportedly arrested during the operation, raising human rights concerns over arbitrary detentions.

The incursion was not limited to arrests. Israeli forces transported prefabricated structures from the town of al-Adnaniyah and began erecting towering seven-meter earthen mounds—clearly indicative of plans to entrench a more permanent military footprint in Syrian territory. The scale and speed of these fortifications point to a calculated strategy to redraw borders and entrench Israeli dominance across the Golan frontier.

This latest move is part of a broader pattern of aggressive Israeli military activity inside Syrian borders. On 4 July, Israeli units reportedly infiltrated Rakhleh, a village in western rural Damascus near the Lebanese frontier. The same day, Israeli special forces conducted a high-risk airborne landing operation in Yaafour, just 10 kilometers from Damascus, supported by three military helicopters—an unprecedented show of force deep within Syrian territory.

These cross-border assaults not only threaten Syria’s territorial integrity but also serve as a dangerous provocation amid already heightened tensions following Israel’s recent war on Lebanon. Observers warn that these actions reflect a systematic policy of territorial expansion, conducted under the pretext of security but driven by long-term strategic interests in reshaping regional dynamics.
