Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of at least eight Palestinians and left several others injured since dawn on Wednesday, according to local medical reports.
In Gaza City, eight people lost their lives when Israeli warplanes targeted Al-Tabi'in School at dawn. Additionally, one person was killed in a strike on a residential building on Baghdad Street in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood.
In Beit Lahia, three citizens were killed and several others injured in an airstrike that struck the gate of Kamal Adwan Hospital, medical authorities confirmed.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the total death toll from Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023, has climbed to 44,249, with 104,746 individuals injured. Women and children account for the majority of the casualties.
Efforts to rescue victims remain hampered by ongoing airstrikes and the obstruction of ambulance and civil defense crews by Israeli forces. Emergency services have been unable to reach many injured individuals or recover bodies trapped beneath rubble across the Gaza Strip.
The attacks continue despite international condemnation. The United Nations Security Council has called for an immediate ceasefire, and the International Court of Justice has issued directives urging measures to prevent genocide and address the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Humanitarian organizations have warned that the unrelenting bombardment is exacerbating an already dire situation, with emergency aid unable to reach those in need due to the blockade and continued airstrikes.
The international community is under increasing pressure to act decisively to halt the violence and ensure humanitarian access to the devastated enclave. (ILKHA)
