Israeli aggression targets civilian infrastructure in Sanaa, Yemen

The Yemeni capital, Sanaa, was rocked on Sunday evening by a series of violent explosions following Israeli airstrikes that deliberately struck vital civilian infrastructure, including the oil company’s station on 60th Street and the Hizyaz power station south of the city, according to security sources in the capital.
The blatant act of aggression came shortly after Israeli defense systems failed to intercept a Yemeni multi-stage fragmentation missile launched in response to the ongoing Zionist crimes in Gaza and the wider region. Analysts in Sanaa said the strike reflects Israel’s growing frustration and military weakness as it faces resistance on multiple fronts.
Eyewitnesses and activists shared images from the heart of residential neighborhoods near the targeted sites, showing shattered windows, damaged homes, and terrified families forced to flee into the streets amid the bombardment. Despite the destruction, civil defense units swiftly responded, extinguishing fires and evacuating families to safety.
Human rights organizations strongly condemned the Israeli attacks, warning that deliberately targeting power and oil facilities directly threatens the lives of millions of Yemenis who are already enduring the consequences of nearly a decade-long war and blockade. They stressed that such strikes not only constitute a war crime under international law but also deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, where civilians continue to pay the heaviest price.
Yemeni political observers emphasized that Israel’s reckless bombing of Sanaa proves the extent of its desperation in the face of the Resistance Axis, pointing out that such escalations will only strengthen Yemen’s determination to continue supporting Palestine and defending its sovereignty against foreign aggression.
