An Israeli airstrike struck a school sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza City early Wednesday, resulting in at least 10 fatalities, including a child who was burned to death, according to the Palestinian Civil Defence.

The attack ignited a massive fire, with videos from the scene showing tents engulfed in flames and charred furniture covered in melted canvas.

Civil Defence officials stated that emergency responders faced extreme difficulty accessing the site due to Israeli forces designating the area as a "no-go" zone.

In a separate development, the agency issued an urgent appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross, requesting immediate assistance to rescue civilians trapped under rubble following Israeli airstrikes on two homes in Gaza City's Tuffah neighborhood.
