At least 22 displaced Palestinians were killed on Sunday evening when Israeli forces bombed a United Nations-run school in southern Gaza, according to local sources.

The school, located in Khan Younis, was serving as a shelter for civilians displaced by ongoing Israeli attacks.

The strike on the UNRWA-run facility reportedly came without warning, causing panic and chaos as survivors searched for victims beneath the rubble. Those injured or killed were transported to the Nasser Medical Complex in the city.

This attack is part of a series of bombings across the besieged Gaza Strip, including in Beit Hanoun, Deir el-Balah, and the Nuseirat refugee camp. According to the latest report from Gaza’s Ministry of Health, published early Monday, at least 69 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours.

UNRWA facilities in Gaza have been repeatedly targeted since Israel's invasion began in October 2023, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region. Images shared on social media revealed the devastating aftermath of the attack and the frantic efforts to rescue survivors.
