Israeli drone strike kills three civilians in southern Lebanon

Lebanon's Health Ministry confirmed on Thursday that an Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle in the southern town of Mais al-Jabal, killing three people — a Lebanese citizen and two Syrians — in a serious breach of the fragile ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel.
The strike targeted a civilian vehicle, resulting in the deaths of a Lebanese national and two Syrian laborers. The brutal attack, carried out by what the ministry called the “Israeli enemy,” comes amid growing fears that Tel Aviv is seeking to escalate tensions in the region despite the delicate state of calm following months of border clashes.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was obliterated by the precision strike, leaving no chance of survival for those inside. Charred remains were recovered by local rescue teams, highlighting the savage nature of the assault.
This act of aggression is the latest in a series of Israeli provocations against Lebanon, targeting civilian areas under the pretext of “security.” The Lebanese government and local communities have repeatedly condemned such actions, which not only breach international law but also threaten to drag Lebanon further into a regional conflict driven by Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.
No justification has been offered by Israeli authorities for the strike, which once again underscores Israel’s disregard for human life and Lebanese territorial integrity.
The residents of Mais al-Jabal, a border town that has long endured the hardships of Israeli hostility, mourned the victims and called on the international community to hold Tel Aviv accountable for its continued crimes.
Lebanese officials warned that such violations risk reigniting full-scale conflict, and they urged the United Nations and allied nations to intervene and prevent further bloodshed. As Israel continues its military operations in Gaza and beyond, Lebanon remains on alert against further acts of aggression that target innocent lives under the guise of security.
This latest tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the need to uphold Lebanese dignity, sovereignty, and the right of its people to live free from occupation, bombardment, and foreign provocation. (ILKHA)
