Israeli forces demolish Palestinian-owned barns in occupied East Jerusalem

Israeli forces on Monday demolished two livestock barns and an agricultural room in the town of Issawiya, located northeast of occupied East Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that heavily armed Israeli soldiers stormed the area, cordoned it off, and blocked residents from accessing their land, while military bulldozers carried out the demolition. The destroyed structures belonged to Palestinian resident Ziad Mustafa and were essential to his family’s livelihood.
The demolitions were carried out without prior notice, adding to the growing number of forced displacements and destruction of Palestinian-owned property by Israeli authorities. Rights groups have long condemned such actions as part of an ongoing effort to pressure Palestinians out of Jerusalem and expand illegal settlements.
Residents of Issawiya, a community that has faced years of land seizures, arrests, and home demolitions, condemned the latest act as another example of collective punishment and a violation of basic human rights.
No justification was provided by Israeli authorities at the time of the demolition. (ILKHA)
