Jordan sends 28-truck humanitarian convoy to Lebanon amid ongoing crisis
Jordan has dispatched a new humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 28 trucks to Lebanon as part of continuing efforts to support communities affected by the country’s prolonged humanitarian and economic crisis.
According to a statement issued by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), the convoy carrying food assistance was organized in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and coordinated closely with the Jordanian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Officials said the latest shipment marks the sixth major aid convoy sent from Jordan to Lebanon through humanitarian land and air bridge operations, bringing the total number of Jordanian aid trucks dispatched to Lebanon to 130.
JHCO also expressed appreciation to Syrian authorities for logistical cooperation and for facilitating the convoy’s transit through Syrian territory toward Lebanon.
The organization stated that the primary objective of the convoy is to strengthen food security and provide direct support to families affected by deteriorating humanitarian conditions across Lebanon.
The aid shipment arrived one day after Lebanese officials and the occupying regime reportedly reached understandings regarding the implementation of a ceasefire following trilateral discussions held in Washington, developments that observers say could influence humanitarian access and stability efforts in the region.
Lebanon continues to face mounting economic pressures, food insecurity, and infrastructure challenges, conditions that humanitarian organizations warn have increased the need for sustained regional and international assistance. (ILKHA)
