Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have made history by reaching a full agreement on their shared border, marking the end of a long-standing territorial dispute.
The deal, which has been brokered by the heads of the two countries' security services, comes after years of sporadic clashes and a particularly intense conflict in September 2022.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in the Kyrgyz city of Batken, near the border. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the friendly and cooperative atmosphere of the negotiations.
The two Central Asian nations have had a complex relationship, with frequent border skirmishes. This latest agreement is seen as a significant step towards regional stability and cooperation. (ILKHA)
