President Erdoğan arrives in China for SCO leaders’ summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Tianjin to participate in the 25th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Erdoğan and his delegation were received at Binhai International Airport with official protocol. Among those welcoming him were Chinese National Health Commission Minister Lei Haichao, Turkish Ambassador to China Selçuk Ünal, and other Chinese and Turkish officials.
The President is accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan and a high-level ministerial delegation, underscoring the significance Türkiye attaches to the summit. The delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat.
The summit, which brings together leaders of SCO member states, is expected to address key issues of regional security, economic cooperation, energy, and global trade. Erdoğan’s participation is seen as part of Türkiye’s efforts to strengthen its role in Eurasian diplomacy and enhance multilateral partnerships within the SCO framework. (ILKHA)
