Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was received by Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during an official visit to Doha, where the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting underscored the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Qatar, with discussions focusing on strengthening political, economic and security cooperation, as well as enhancing coordination on issues affecting the Middle East. Fidan's visit also included talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, followed by a joint press conference, and a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Regional developments featured prominently on the agenda, including ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the Gulf, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and broader initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and stability. The leaders stressed the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing current security challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions to regional crises.

The visit comes as Ankara and Doha continue close coordination on key regional files, building on their longstanding strategic partnership and frequent high-level contacts. Türkiye and Qatar have maintained close cooperation in diplomacy, defense, trade and humanitarian affairs, while regularly consulting on developments affecting the Middle East.  (ILKHA)
