Hope Caravan warns international community against ignoring Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis
As the Israeli occupation's assault on Gaza enters its 1,000th day, humanitarian organizations are warning that waning international attention is taking a toll on relief efforts, with donations declining as the humanitarian crisis receives less global coverage.
Speaking to ILKHA, Nurettin Teymur, head of the Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı) Association in Batman, said keeping Gaza in the global spotlight is essential to ensuring continued humanitarian assistance, urging donors and the media not to let the enclave fade from public attention.
Teymur criticized what he described as the silence of the international community over the suffering in Gaza.
"For 1,000 days, Gaza has witnessed massacres and genocide. Despite the occupation continuing its attacks every day, the world remains silent. People are silent. The United Nations is silent," he said.

Teymur said he had little expectation that international institutions would take meaningful action.
"When it comes to Muslims, and when it comes to Gaza, everyone remains silent. Unfortunately, concepts such as human rights and international justice lose their meaning," he said.
Describing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Teymur said residents continue to endure hunger, displacement, injuries and widespread destruction.
'A child dies every 10 minutes'
Highlighting the human cost of the conflict, Teymur said children continue to bear the heaviest burden.
"Gaza is burning. Our children are dying every day. A child dies every 10 minutes. How much longer will the world remain silent? When will anyone say 'enough' to these attacks?" he asked.
'We continue to bring hope to Gaza'
Teymur said Hope Caravan has continued its humanitarian operations despite mounting challenges.
"As Hope Caravan Batman, we continue to stand by the people of Gaza and give them hope," he said.
He explained that the organization provides daily hot meals, distributes clean water through water tankers and supports daily bread production inside Gaza.
Teymur also noted that wounded Palestinians had been transferred for treatment to a specialized hospital in Egypt and said the organization had undertaken the reconstruction of part of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.
'Do not let Gaza fade from public attention'
Calling on people to maintain their support, Teymur said humanitarian aid had decreased as media coverage of Gaza declined.
"For the sake of Allah, do not forget Gaza. Do not allow Gaza to disappear from the public agenda. As Gaza receives less attention, donations decrease, and that deeply hurts us," he said.
He acknowledged that delivering aid into Gaza has become increasingly difficult but stressed that the organization continues its work with the support of donors.
"We face many obstacles in delivering assistance, but with the help of charitable people we continue reaching those in need. Please do not stop extending your helping hand to Gaza," he said.
Concluding his remarks, Teymur urged both the media and the public to keep Gaza in focus.
"As the world turns its eyes away from Gaza and the media gives it less attention, humanitarian assistance continues to decline. Let us not reduce our support. Let us not forget Gaza, and let us not allow others to forget it either."(ILKHA)
