Saudi network Al-Arabiya releases alleged draft of Pakistani-mediated US-Iran agreement
Saudi Arabia’s Al-Arabiya television network has published what it describes as the “final draft” of a possible agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the ongoing war, according to a report citing unnamed sources.
The report claimed the proposed agreement consists of nine articles and would enter into force immediately after being officially announced by both parties.
According to the published draft, the framework calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire across land, sea and air fronts, alongside mutual commitments not to target military, civilian or economic infrastructure.
The proposed agreement also includes provisions aimed at ending military operations and suspending media campaigns linked to the conflict.
Among the reported articles are commitments to respect national sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs.
The draft further emphasizes guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, which are considered strategically important routes for global energy shipments and maritime trade.
The document additionally proposes the establishment of a joint mechanism to supervise implementation of the agreement and address possible disputes between the parties.
According to the report, negotiations on unresolved issues would begin within seven days, while the United States would gradually ease sanctions on Iran in return for Tehran’s compliance with the agreement.
The reported draft also stresses adherence to international law and the United Nations Charter.
The publication of the alleged framework comes amid continued diplomatic contacts and mediation efforts in the region, including reported Pakistani involvement in facilitating discussions between Washington and Tehran.
Neither the United States nor Iran has officially confirmed the authenticity of the reported draft agreement. (ILKHA)
