Sudan's conflict forces over 14 million to flee homes

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has revealed that over 14 million people have been displaced within Sudan and across borders due to the ongoing conflict.
The crisis has forced 11 million people to seek refuge within their own country, a number that has risen by 200,000 since September. Additionally, 3.1 million have fled to neighboring countries.
IOM Director-General Amy Pope described the situation as "catastrophic," with nearly 25 million people now in need of humanitarian aid. She emphasized the urgent need for the conflict to cease, as the suffering continues to worsen daily.
The conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces erupted in mid-April 2023, leading to widespread violence and destruction. According to the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project, the conflict has claimed over 24,850 lives. (ILKHA)
