Turkish, Qatari foreign ministers hold talks in Doha on regional developments
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in Doha on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments across the Middle East.
The meeting took place amid heightened regional tensions and focused on strengthening cooperation between Türkiye and Qatar, two close strategic partners that have maintained close coordination on regional and international issues.
According to diplomatic sources, the talks covered recent developments in the Middle East, including ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions, as well as the situations in Gaza, Syria and other conflict-affected areas. The ministers also exchanged views on diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting stability and preventing further escalation.
Fidan and Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the strong partnership between Ankara and Doha, emphasizing the importance of continued consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest. The two sides also discussed ways to deepen cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment and defense sectors.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to advancing regional peace through dialogue and diplomacy while strengthening their longstanding bilateral ties.
