Two killed in plane crash in Romania

Two men lost their lives on Saturday when a small ultralight aircraft crashed in the yard of a former factory in the western Romanian city of Arad, local emergency services confirmed.
The Arad County Ambulance Service reported that both victims died instantly from fatal injuries sustained in the crash.
According to investigators, the ultralight was on a recreational flight with a 47-year-old professional pilot from Bucharest and an 18-year-old passenger from Arad. The plane had departed from Siria airfield, located approximately 25 kilometers from Arad, and was approaching Arad Airport when it crashed just a few kilometers short of the runway.
The impact was severe, causing the plane to break apart. Investigators found the engine several meters away from the fuselage.
The crash site was near a factory that had recently closed in June. A few security staff members present at the factory quickly alerted emergency services following the accident.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. (ILKHA)
