Two Palestinians killed by Israeli forces and settlers in occupied West Bank
Israeli occupation forces and extremist settlers killed two young Palestinians early Monday morning in separate incidents in Nablus and al-Khalil (Hebron), continuing the ongoing wave of deadly violence against the Palestinian people across the occupied West Bank.
According to local and medical sources, 17-year-old Jamil Hannani was martyred at dawn after succumbing to a gunshot wound inflicted by Israeli soldiers during a violent raid on Beit Furik, a town east of Nablus.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Hannani was shot in the chest during confrontations that erupted as local youths attempted to repel the incursion of Israeli forces into their town. Witnesses said occupation troops deliberately blocked paramedics from reaching the wounded teenager, denying him urgent first aid for a prolonged period.
He was eventually transferred to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where doctors pronounced him dead after desperate attempts to save his life.
Residents of Beit Furik described the raid as one of many recent Israeli military operations targeting Palestinian towns and refugee camps across the northern West Bank, marked by home raids, arrests, and live fire against civilians.
Meanwhile, in al-Khalil (Hebron), another young Palestinian man was shot and martyred by an armed Jewish settler in the Ras al-Joura area near the city’s northern entrance.
Local witnesses said the settler opened fire on the youth at close range, seriously injuring him, before groups of settlers and occupation soldiers surrounded the area, preventing medical crews from providing aid or evacuating the wounded man.
According to hospital sources, the young man succumbed to his injuries at dawn Monday.
The attacks come amid a renewed escalation of settler and military violence throughout the occupied West Bank, where Palestinian communities continue to face collective punishment, home demolitions, and extrajudicial killings under the protection of the Israeli occupation army.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the increasing coordination between settlers and Israeli forces represents a dangerous escalation aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from their lands and entrenching the illegal occupation.
The killings of Jamil Hannani and the unidentified young man in al-Khalil bring the total number of Palestinians martyred in the West Bank since the start of the year to several hundred, including many minors, as Israeli forces continue their brutal campaign of repression amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
