Three people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting at a hookah lounge in the Mount Baker neighborhood of South Seattle early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred at the Rainier Hookah Lounge, located on the 2200 block of Rainier Avenue South, just before 4:30 a.m. Officers responding to the scene found three people with gunshot wounds, two men and a woman. The two men, ages 22 and 32, died at the scene. The woman, 30, died at Harborview Medical Center.
Six other people who were injured in the shooting showed up at Harborview Medical Center. One of them, a 23-year-old man, is in critical condition. The other five are in satisfactory condition.
Police have not released any information about a possible suspect or suspects in the shooting. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell released a statement in response to the shooting, saying that it was "a senseless act of violence that has taken the lives of three people and injured six others." He said that the city is working to reduce gun violence, but that more needs to be done.
"We must do everything we can to keep our communities safe," Harrell said. "That means working to get illegal guns off our streets and providing resources to help people who are struggling with violence."
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. (ILKHA)
