A mass shooting in Chicago’s River North neighborhood late Wednesday night left four people dead and 14 others wounded, according to city police.
The incident occurred on the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue when a vehicle approached a group gathered outside and at least one occupant opened fire. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the attack, and as of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made.
Among the deceased are two men and two women. The victims ranged in age from their 20s to 30s, with three individuals hospitalized in critical condition.
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the shooting, but the motive remains unclear. Police are appealing to the public for information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect or suspects involved.
The River North area, known for its nightlife and residential developments, was rattled by the sudden violence, prompting renewed concerns over gun violence in the city. (ILKHA)
