US airstrikes kill six, wound 26 in Sanaa as aggression against Yemen intensifies

The death toll from U.S. airstrikes targeting the al-Sawari ceramic factory west of the Yemeni capital has risen to six martyrs, with at least 26 others wounded, some critically, according to a preliminary statement released by the Yemeni Ministry of Health on Sunday.
Health Ministry spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi confirmed that civil defense units and emergency medical teams continue to work around the clock to recover victims from beneath the rubble and to extinguish fires ignited by the bombardment.
The strike, which devastated the factory facility, is part of a broader U.S. military campaign that has increasingly targeted civilian infrastructure across Yemen in recent weeks. The al-Sawari attack comes amid heightened American aerial activity over Sanaa and other regions of the country.
In a separate incident, local sources reported that U.S. warplanes launched two additional airstrikes on the al-Yatama area in the Khabb wa ash Sha'af District, northeast of al-Jawf Governorate. These raids occurred amid a noticeable uptick in American reconnaissance and combat flights across the Yemeni skies.
Washington’s ongoing campaign has resulted in near-daily attacks on various Yemeni governorates, as part of what many in the region see as an aggressive and escalating military posture. These developments coincide with the resumption of naval operations by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea, following renewed Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip.
Observers say that Yemen’s retaliatory maritime campaign, primarily targeting vessels linked to the Israeli occupation and its Western backers, has prompted the U.S. to intensify its intervention under the pretext of “protecting shipping lanes,” while in practice expanding its war footprint in the region.
Yemeni officials and civil society leaders have condemned the U.S. strikes as war crimes, accusing Washington of backing Israeli aggression not only in Gaza but now also by expanding the scope of conflict to Yemen. The airstrike on the al-Sawari factory marks yet another tragic chapter in the unfolding humanitarian crisis, as the country reels under the weight of foreign intervention, siege, and economic collapse.
Emergency teams continue rescue efforts as fears mount that the casualty count could rise further in the coming hours. (ILKHA)
