U.S. launches fresh airstrikes on Yemen’s capital

U.S. warplanes launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital Sanaa and nearby regions on Tuesday, intensifying Washington’s unlawful military campaign against the impoverished Arab nation.
According to local sources, at least three U.S. air raids struck the capital Sanaa, with missiles targeting the Brash area in the Sanhan district, located within the Sanaa Province. Eyewitnesses reported heavy explosions and widespread panic among civilians in the densely populated area.
Earlier in the day, two additional U.S. strikes were reported in the Al-Mahjar area of Harub village, situated in Al-Husn district of Khawlan, also within Sanaa Province. No immediate casualties have been confirmed, but local media warned of rising tension and fear amid continued overflights and drone surveillance.
The attacks mark a renewed escalation of violence by the United States in a country that has already been devastated by years of war, siege, and humanitarian disaster largely fueled by foreign intervention.
Yemeni analysts and rights activists have condemned the airstrikes as flagrant violations of international law and Yemeni sovereignty, calling on the international community to break its silence on Washington’s ongoing crimes against the people of Yemen.
“These are not defensive actions,” a Sanaa-based political commentator told local press. “This is imperial aggression, plain and simple. The U.S. is trying to punish Yemen for standing with Palestine and refusing to bow to Western dictates.”
The renewed airstrikes come amid rising anger across the region over U.S. and Israeli actions in Gaza, with many resistance movements pledging to respond to what they call the “Axis of Oppression” led by Washington and Tel Aviv.
As Yemen braces for further attacks, voices continue to grow louder against the U.S.'s destructive role in the region, with calls for international accountability and solidarity with Yemen’s steadfast resistance. (ILKHA)
