Yemeni forces deliver new blow to U.S. and Israeli occupation

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced a significant military operation targeting the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its escort vessels in the Red Sea, alongside a drone strike on a key target in Askalan, in occupied Palestinian territories.
The operations, confirmed by YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, were conducted in retaliation for ongoing U.S. military strikes on Yemen and in solidarity with Palestinians facing aggression in Gaza.
Saree detailed that the assault on the USS Truman involved coordinated strikes by Yemen’s naval, drone, and missile units, employing ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The YAF claimed the attack forced the U.S. carrier group to retreat from its operational zone. Concurrently, a Yafa-type drone struck a critical target in Askalan, underscoring Yemen’s commitment to supporting Palestinian resistance. Saree vowed that such operations would persist until U.S. and Israeli actions against Yemen and Gaza cease.
The Yemeni Ministry of Justice condemned the U.S. for what it described as relentless aggression, reporting over 1,300 civilian casualties from American strikes as of Monday. The ministry highlighted the destruction of homes and infrastructure, including a devastating airstrike on a residential home in Thaqban, Bani al-Harith District in Sanaa, which killed and injured dozens, primarily women and children. Additionally, a dawn attack in Saada targeting African migrants resulted in at least 114 dead or wounded, with casualty figures still being updated.
The ministry denounced these incidents as war crimes and crimes against humanity, urging the international community to hold the U.S. accountable. As violence intensifies in Yemen and Gaza, Yemeni officials reaffirmed their resolve to continue targeting U.S. and Israeli assets until the aggressions end, signaling a deepening cycle of retaliation and resistance in the region.
