Yemeni forces strike Ben Gurion Airport with ballistic missile in support of Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they carried out a military operation targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, also known as Lod Airport, located in the occupied city of Yaffa.
According to a statement released by Sanaa’s military command, the strike was conducted using a Dhu al-Fiqar ballistic missile and successfully achieved its intended objectives.
The operation, described by Sanaa as a “qualitative military response”, was launched in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in condemnation of Israel’s ongoing military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
In its official statement, Sanaa declared: “In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance fighters, and in rejection of the genocidal crimes committed by the Zionist enemy in Gaza, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a qualitative military operation.”
The missile strike reportedly caused widespread disruption across occupied territories. Alarm sirens were triggered in over 300 towns and cities, forcing millions of Israeli settlers into bomb shelters. The attack also halted air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport, one of Israel’s primary international gateways.
The statement further emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces would continue and expand their military operations in occupied Palestine, targeting military and strategic sites, unless the aggression on Gaza ceases and the blockade is lifted.
“With Allah’s help, these operations will persist. The Armed Forces are determined to develop their capabilities to play a stronger and more effective role in this battle alongside the oppressed Palestinian people,” the statement read.
In addition to missile strikes, the Yemeni military vowed to maintain its naval blockade, which has targeted Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea and beyond in recent months.
This latest development marks a significant escalation in regional military activity as part of the broader axis of resistance's response to the Israeli war on Gaza, now entering its tenth month. Yemen’s direct targeting of major infrastructure inside the occupied territories further underscores the growing scope of pro-Palestinian military support from beyond Gaza.
There has been no immediate response from Israeli authorities regarding the extent of the damage at Ben Gurion Airport, though multiple sources confirmed temporary air traffic disruptions and widespread activation of air defense systems.
This operation is part of a series of missile and drone attacks launched by Yemeni forces in recent months, signaling their deepening involvement in the ongoing conflict and the widening of the regional front opposing Israeli aggression in Gaza. (ILKHA)
