Yemeni forces strike Israeli military site with hypersonic missile in solidarity with Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the successful launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting an Israeli military site in the southern Tel Aviv metropolitan area, marking a dramatic escalation in regional military support for Gaza amid Israel’s ongoing war.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed on Saturday that the Palestine-2 hypersonic missile hit its designated target with precision, adding that Israeli air defense systems failed to intercept the strike. This marks the latest in a series of long-range attacks launched by Yemen in direct response to what it calls the “genocidal campaign” by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
“This operation is part of our unwavering support for Gaza’s resistance and a response to the brutal Zionist-American aggression,” Saree declared in a televised statement.
The Yemeni Armed Forces warned that continued silence and complicity in the face of Israel’s actions would bring consequences not only for Palestinians but for the entire region. “What is happening in Gaza today will, sooner or later, reach other countries. The enemy will only grow more aggressive and expansionist,” the statement read.
It further emphasized that supporting Gaza now is a regional necessity: “Backing the Palestinian resistance today is better than waiting until the threat reaches every Arab and Muslim capital.”
The statement reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to sustained military operations until the Israeli assault on Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted. In recent days, Yemen has launched multiple ballistic missiles toward Israeli targets, demonstrating the resilience of its missile program despite ongoing US-UK airstrikes aimed at weakening the country's capabilities.
Following Saturday’s missile strike, sirens reportedly sounded throughout the occupied al-Quds region and the Dead Sea area, according to Israeli Army Radio. Nearly 1.5 million Israeli settlers were forced into bomb shelters during the early morning hours, indicating the psychological and logistical impact of the strikes.
Yedioth Ahronoth, a leading Israeli daily, acknowledged that the missile launched from Yemen evaded interception and struck with precision—further proof, the outlet noted, that over a month and a half of US-led bombardments on Yemen have failed to cripple its military capabilities.
Just a day prior, Yemen claimed responsibility for another military operation targeting a key Israeli facility in the occupied Haifa area. That attack also involved a hypersonic missile and was reportedly executed with similar accuracy, according to Saree.
The wave of Yemeni military operations, conducted in coordination with the broader regional Axis of Resistance, has introduced a new dimension to the ongoing war on Gaza, further complicating Israel’s strategic posture and escalating regional tension. (ILKHA)
