Afghanistan, Iran strengthen railway trade ties to boost exports

Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan's Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, held talks with a high-level Iranian delegation led by Engineer Morteza Jafari, an official with the Iranian Railway Authority, to enhance trade via railway networks.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that the discussions focused on optimizing imports and exports through Iran's railway system to facilitate the transport of Afghan goods to European markets, with routes extending through Iran and Turkey.
The Iranian delegation committed to providing competitive rates and efficient services for Afghanistan's export, transit, and import goods. They emphasized delivering goods within the shortest possible time frame to enhance trade efficiency.
To bolster coordination, Azizi introduced a five-member team dedicated to improving communication and fostering stronger cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran. This initiative aims to streamline trade operations and maximize the potential of railway connectivity.
The meeting underscores Afghanistan's efforts to strengthen regional trade ties and leverage railway networks to boost its economic integration with global markets. (ILKHA)
