Yılmaz: Türkiye needs HÜDA PAR to resolve chronic human rights and economic problems
As his party approaches its 13th anniversary, HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) Secretary General Hüseyin Yılmaz declared that Türkiye’s enduring crises prove the nation needs his party’s platform now more than ever.
In an interview with İLKHA ahead of Friday’s anniversary rally in Diyarbakır, Yılmaz offered a critical review of the past 13 years. He argued that the fundamental issues HÜDA PAR highlighted at its founding—the Kurdish question, freedom of belief, human rights, and economic distress—remain stagnant or have intensified.
“When we look at human rights and the economy, Türkiye’s situation has not significantly changed since we began,” Yılmaz stated. “Thirteen years ago, we spoke of the Kurdish issue and the rights of Kurds. We are still speaking of them today.”
He further contended that while there have been practical adjustments, legal and constitutional guarantees for Muslims' freedom of belief are absent, and what he described as the imposition of a secular lifestyle persists. Economically, he asserted conditions have deteriorated, particularly for low-income groups and minimum-wage earners.
A Voice for the "Unsayable"
Yılmaz positioned HÜDA PAR’s role as that of a trailblazer that shattered taboos in Turkish politics. “We said what was left unsaid and voiced what could not be voiced,” he noted, suggesting the party forced long-ignored topics into the national conversation.
He cited this as a key achievement, arguing that a party’s success is also measured by its ability to influence those in power. “The government has gradually started to incorporate our proposed solutions for social, economic, and youth issues into its own programs and rhetoric,” Yılmaz said, framing this as a validation of HÜDA PAR’s agenda.
"The Solution Lies in Our Program"
The Secretary General concluded with a direct call for political support, presenting his party’s ideology as the definitive answer to Türkiye’s deep-seated problems.
“The remedy for our chronic issues is written in HÜDA PAR’s program—in our vision,” Yılmaz stated emphatically. “Therefore, this country needs HÜDA PAR to be brought to power by society.”
He expressed conviction that public recognition of the party's principles would translate into electoral support, enabling the implementation of their agenda. The party will formally mark its 13th anniversary at a gathering in Diyarbakır on December 19. (ILKHA)
