Agricultural producer prices surge in January

The Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products (Agriculture-PPI) in Türkiye increased by 35.54% on an annual basis and 2.74% monthly, according to a statement released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday.
In January 2025, Agriculture-PPI saw a 2.74% rise compared to the previous month, a 2.74% increase from December of the previous year, a 35.54% increase from the same month in the previous year, and a 45.05% increase based on the twelve-month moving averages.
Sector-specific data reveals that products of agriculture, hunting, and related services increased by 2.33%, forestry, logging, and related services saw a 12.28% rise, and fish and other fishing products, aquaculture products, and support services to fishing increased by 6.94% compared to the previous month.
In terms of main groups, non-perennial crops increased by 0.14%, perennial crops rose by 4.62%, and live animals and animal products saw a 3.43% increase.
Notably, citrus fruits experienced the highest annual rate of change with a staggering 160.40% increase. On a monthly basis, tropical and subtropical fruits led the surge with a 29.64% increase. (ILKHA)
