Türkiye, Pakistan reaffirm commitment to $5 billion trade target
Türkiye and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade to $5 billion, with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz highlighting stronger cooperation in investment, manufacturing, technology and commerce during the Türkiye-Pakistan Business and Investment Forum held in Istanbul.
The forum brought together senior government officials and business leaders from both countries, including Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to explore new investment opportunities and deepen economic cooperation.
Economic partnership takes center stage
In a statement shared on social media, Yılmaz said Türkiye and Pakistan aim to reinforce their long-standing friendship and brotherhood by building a stronger economic partnership across key sectors.
He expressed confidence that the two countries would achieve their shared $5 billion trade target by increasing mutual investments, establishing new business partnerships and implementing concrete measures to facilitate bilateral trade.
Yılmaz also said he hoped the forum would generate tangible outcomes for both countries, their business communities and investors.
Sharif's visit highlights growing cooperation
Yılmaz said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit reflects the determination of both countries to further strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership and expand economic cooperation.
