Türkiye’s services producer price index rises 34.85% annually in October
Türkiye’s Services Producer Price Index (S-PPI) recorded a significant increase in October 2025, rising by 34.85% compared with the same month of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Friday.
According to the official statement, the S-PPI showed a modest monthly rise of 0.19%. When measured from December of the previous year, the index increased by 35.02%, while the twelve-month moving average recorded a 38.96% increase.
Among key service sectors, transportation and storage services saw a 30.92% increase annually. Other sectors also recorded sharp rises: accommodation and food services rose 35.53%, information and communication services increased 35.64%, real estate services surged 47.11%, professional, scientific and technical services rose 39.51%, and administrative and support services increased 38.01% year-on-year.
On a monthly basis, the index for transportation and storage services grew by 0.91%. Real estate services and professional, scientific, and technical services increased by 1.52% and 1.78% respectively, while information and communication services rose by 2.16%. However, accommodation and food services decreased by 2.03%, and administrative and support services declined by 2.18% compared with the previous month.
The rise in the Services PPI reflects ongoing cost pressures in Türkiye’s service sector, driven by factors such as inflation, increased operational costs, and shifts in domestic demand. Analysts note that persistent price increases in critical sectors such as real estate, transportation, and professional services could have ripple effects on consumer prices and overall economic stability.
TurkStat’s report underscores the need for careful monitoring of service sector inflation as policymakers evaluate measures to stabilize prices and support sustainable growth in Türkiye’s economy. (ILKHA)
