Prophet's Lovers Foundation to host programs on Companions in Diyarbakır
Prophet’s Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı) is set to host two separate commemorative events this Sunday at Kurşunlu Mosque in Diyarbakır, continuing its tradition of declaring November the “Month of the Companions.”
The annual event, themed “Stars That Illuminate Our Path,” aims to introduce the public to the exemplary lives and struggles of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This year, the focus will be on Musab ibn Umayr and Nusaybah Bint Ka’ab, two figures recognized for their inspiring examples, particularly for young people. The women’s program highlighting Nusaybah Bint Ka’ab’s life will begin at 1:00 PM, while the men’s session covering Musab ibn Umayr will be held at 7:00 PM, both at the central Sur district mosque.
Ömer Çelik, a Board Member of the Prophet Lovers Foundation, emphasized the importance of these selections, stating, “The Prophet Lovers Foundation has declared November the ‘Month of the Companions,’ and each year during this month, we share the lives and struggles of these illuminating figures with the public.”
Çelik explained that the choice of Musab ibn Umayr and Nusaybah Bint Ka’ab reflects a response to contemporary moral challenges. “In our era, there is significant moral decline, distancing from religion, and increasing worldly distractions, especially among youth. The only way to counter this is by following the path and example of the Prophet and his Companions. On Sunday, we will recount the life of Nusaybah Bint Ka’ab for women and Musab ibn Umayr for men,” he said.
He further invited all residents to attend, highlighting the educational and spiritual value of the programs. “Musab ibn Umayr embraced faith at a young age and attained martyrdom early in the cause. The solution to today’s moral challenges lies in following the example of the Companions. We welcome all young men and women devoted to the Prophet to participate in these events at Kurşunlu Mosque,” Çelik concluded.
The programs aim to strengthen moral values, inspire youth, and foster a deeper understanding of the lives of the Prophet’s Companions among the people of Diyarbakır. (ILKHA)
