Erdoğan and Tebboune pledge to deepen Türkiye–Algeria strategic alliance
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held a phone conversation to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues, focusing heavily on enhancing strategic economic partnerships and addressing regional developments.
During the call, President Erdoğan emphasized Ankara’s commitment to further deepening cooperation with Algeria across multiple sectors, particularly in trade, energy and the defence industry.
The Turkish president stated that both countries continue to work toward expanding strategic partnerships and enhancing economic collaboration in line with the growing ties between Ankara and Algiers.
Erdoğan underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation mechanisms that would contribute to the prosperity and stability of both nations while reinforcing regional partnerships.
The two leaders also exchanged views on ongoing regional and international issues, including efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the broader region.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye would continue intensifying its diplomatic initiatives to support peace, security and stability both regionally and globally.
Türkiye and Algeria have significantly expanded relations in recent years, particularly in the fields of energy, construction, trade, defence cooperation and investment. Algeria remains one of Türkiye’s leading trade partners in Africa, with both countries seeking to increase bilateral trade volume and strategic coordination.
During the conversation, President Erdoğan also conveyed his Eid al-Adha greetings to President Tebboune and extended his wishes for peace, prosperity and blessings to the brotherly people of Algeria.
The phone call comes amid continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries as Ankara seeks to strengthen its political and economic presence across North Africa and deepen cooperation with key regional partners. (ILKHA)
