Erdoğan meets Montenegrin PM Spajić on NATO summit sidelines in Ankara
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a bilateral meeting with Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić on the sidelines of the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
The leaders discussed ways to strengthen Türkiye–Montenegro relations and exchanged views on current regional issues.
Erdoğan expressed confidence that bilateral ties between the two countries will continue to grow across all fields.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to expand cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, tourism, the defence industry, and security.
Erdoğan also voiced satisfaction with the progress of the Balkans Peace Platform, an initiative led by Türkiye, stating that it has become an important framework for addressing key regional matters such as border security, energy, and transportation.
“The Balkans Peace Platform will contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region,” President Erdoğan said during the meeting.
The encounter reflects Türkiye’s active diplomatic engagement in the Western Balkans and its commitment to fostering dialogue and practical cooperation among regional countries.
Both sides are expected to build on the discussions to further advance their partnership in the coming period. (ILKHA)
