Erdoğan to attend climate summit in Dubai

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will join other world leaders in Dubai for the World Climate Action Summit, a high-level event that aims to address the global challenges of climate change.
The summit, which will start on Thursday, is part of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), the main international forum for negotiating and implementing the Paris Agreement.
Erdoğan will deliver a speech at the summit on the first day, highlighting Türkiye's efforts and commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change, according to a statement by Turkish presidency.
He will also hold bilateral meetings with some of the participating Heads of State and Government, and discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The World Climate Action Summit, hosted by the United Arab Emirates, will bring together leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia to showcase innovative solutions and partnerships for climate action, and to mobilize resources and political will for a low-carbon and resilient future.
