Erdoğan: Turkish Red Crescent is a global beacon of hope for humanity
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued a message commemorating the 158th anniversary of the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), highlighting the organisation’s role as a global symbol of humanitarian aid and national values.
In his statement, President Erdoğan described the Turkish Red Crescent as one of the world’s most respected humanitarian organisations, crediting its success to the deeply rooted Turkish traditions of benevolence, compassion, kindness, and solidarity. He emphasised the institution’s selfless and effective services that go beyond borders.
“The Turkish Red Crescent, which symbolises the values of benevolence, compassion, kindness and solidarity that are deeply rooted in our noble nation, is one of the world’s most respected humanitarian organisations thanks to its selfless and effective services that transcend borders,” Erdoğan said.
The President noted the organisation’s dedication to helping the oppressed and those in need under challenging conditions. He praised its efforts in standing by people requiring assistance, healing wounds caused by wars and natural disasters, and serving as a beacon of hope for humanity.
Erdoğan underlined that the Turkish Red Crescent derives its strength from the support and generosity of the Turkish nation in its mission to promote peace, prosperity, fraternity, and friendship. He expressed confidence that the organisation will continue to represent Türkiye in the best possible way on the international stage.
On this anniversary, the President extended his congratulations to all volunteers of the Turkish Red Crescent and called on the Turkish people to continue supporting the distinguished humanitarian institution.
