Gaza’s Aqsa Martyrs Hospital praises Orphans Foundation for lifesaving field hospital

Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza has expressed profound gratitude to Türkiye’s Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) for establishing a critical field hospital amid ongoing Israeli aggression.
The facility, operational since March, was built within the hospital’s premises through donations from philanthropists to ease the strain on Gaza’s collapsing healthcare system.
In a heartfelt letter of appreciation, the management and medical staff of the hospital extended their deep gratitude to the Orphans Foundation, stating:
“We express our gratitude to your Foundation for its valuable efforts and support in serving our people. Your efforts are especially valuable under the continuous attacks on the Gaza Strip.”
The letter further emphasized the importance of the field hospital in helping to treat the wounded and the sick, highlighting the humanitarian and national significance of the initiative:
“Thanks to your generous and valuable contributions, we have been able to establish a patient care unit… helping to care for the wounded and sick. This is a clear demonstration of your humanitarian and national responsibility towards our people.”
Fikri Karavil, President of the Orphans Foundation, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share the letter of appreciation and to express his own gratitude to the Turkish donors who made the project possible. Karavil noted that the hospital was completed in a remarkably short period following a ceasefire, reflecting the urgency and commitment of the initiative.
The field hospital is already playing a crucial role in relieving the burden on Gaza’s overrun medical centers, providing vital care to those injured in the ongoing aggression, particularly as Israel continues its indiscriminate attacks on civilians and infrastructure.
Gaza’s medical system has been pushed to the brink, with many hospitals bombed or rendered inoperative due to siege-induced fuel and supply shortages. In this context, the Orphans Foundation’s initiative has been widely hailed as a lifesaving intervention and a symbol of international solidarity with the besieged Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
