HAKSIAD calls for shared responsibility in environmental protection on World Environment Day
The Association of Just Industrialists and Businessmen (HAKSIAD) marked World Environment Day on June 5 with a message emphasizing that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and a trust entrusted to humanity.
In its statement, HAKSIAD stressed that safeguarding the environment is essential for protecting the future, noting that the Earth should be viewed as an “amānah” (trust) requiring collective care and responsibility.
The organization underlined that environmental protection should not be seen solely as an individual duty, but as a collective obligation involving businesses, producers, institutions, and society as a whole.
HAKSIAD highlighted that environmental awareness must extend across all sectors, particularly within industry and production, where resource use and environmental impact are most significant.
The statement pointed to the concept of stewardship in Islamic civilization, which regards the protection of land, water, air, and all living beings as a moral responsibility.
It further emphasized that environmentally responsible production, efficient resource management, and sustainable development are not only ethical imperatives but also key factors in long-term economic stability and growth.
HAKSIAD also expressed support for Türkiye’s Zero Waste Initiative, describing it as an important model for improving environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices nationwide.
The association called for broader adoption of such initiatives across all sectors of society to strengthen environmental consciousness and reduce waste.
Concluding its message, HAKSIAD reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at building a more livable environment, promoting sustainability, and ensuring a better future for coming generations. (ILKHA)
