Hope Caravan provides clothing to 35 orphan families in Mardin
The Hope Caravan initiative has brought joy and support to 35 orphan families in Mardin, Türkiye, providing clothing and shoes as part of its ongoing aid efforts during Ramadan.
The aid distribution took place on the 15th day of Ramadan, a date recognized across the Islamic world as World Orphans Day, dedicated to supporting orphaned children and their families. The Hope Caravan, with the help of generous benefactors, provided essential clothing and shoes to 35 families in Mardin, ensuring they can celebrate the upcoming holidays with dignity and warmth.
Speaking about the initiative, Abdulaziz Önen, President of Mardin Hope Caravan, highlighted the significance of the occasion, stating, “Today is the 15th day of Ramadan. At the same time, with the support of our benefactors on the occasion of World Orphans Day, we have provided clothing and shoes to 35 orphan children.” Önen expressed regret that the organization could not reach more families, adding, “There are many more orphan families in Mardin. However, we were able to distribute the donations to only 35 families.”
Önen emphasized the moral and religious duty to care for orphans, drawing on Islamic teachings to underscore the importance of the cause. “Orphans have a lot of rights over us. We must protect our orphans. There are verses and hadiths on this subject,” he said. Quoting the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, Önen added, “The person who harbours, cares for, and raises orphans will be in paradise with me in the next world. We are also instrumental in this good deed, and those who donate will fulfill the hadith of our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, peace be upon him, insha’Allah. May Allah be pleased with everyone who contributed.”
The Hope Caravan’s efforts in Mardin are part of a broader mission to support vulnerable communities, particularly during Ramadan, a time of heightened charity and compassion in the Islamic world. This initiative not only meets immediate needs but also serves as a reminder of the power of collective action in uplifting those in need, especially orphans, who hold a special place in Islamic teachings.
As the holy month continues, stories like this highlight the importance of compassion and solidarity in transforming lives and fostering hope for a brighter future. (ILKHA)
