HÜDA PAR Spokesperson and Batman MP Serkan Ramanlı addressed the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in a press conference, discussing the recent ‘Humanitarian Solution to the Kurdish Issue’ Workshop held in Diyarbakır on 15-16 February.

Ramanlı provided a comprehensive overview of the discussions, emphasizing that the event highlighted historical injustices and possible pathways to resolution.

He stated that the workshop brought together intellectuals, scholars, and activists to engage in meaningful discussions on the Kurdish issue, which has remained unresolved for over a century. “For decades, this issue has resulted in bloodshed, displacement, and suffering. This workshop has provided a much-needed platform for constructive dialogue,” he said. Ramanlı thanked all participants, emphasizing that their ideas, opinions, and recommendations strengthened the discussion and reinforced the need for an urgent solution.

‘HÜDA PAR’s Initiative Disturbs Some’

Ramanlı stated that HÜDA PAR’s proactive stance on the Kurdish issue had unsettled certain groups, particularly those who prefer to maintain the status quo. He emphasized the urgency of resolving the conflict, criticizing those who attempt to undermine peaceful and just solutions.

“For more than a century, this issue has remained unresolved, and for over 40 years, it has led to violence and suffering. Instead of finding solutions, some groups prefer to manipulate the Kurdish issue for their own political agendas. While various political parties, NGOs, and intellectuals have discussed this matter over the years, our party’s initiative has caused discomfort among those who thrive on division,” he said.

Ramanlı directly accused Kemalist forces of playing a key role in the historical suppression of the Kurdish identity, stating that the denial, assimilation, and oppressive policies of the Single Party era created the Kurdish issue in the first place. “The problem is simple. The rejectionist, assimilationist, and oppressive mentality of the early Republican era created this issue. Today, those who continue to uphold this outdated ideology try to suppress the truth,” he argued.

‘HÜDA PAR is Committed to Turkish-Kurdish Brotherhood’

During his speech, Ramanlı reaffirmed HÜDA PAR’s commitment to fostering brotherhood between Turks and Kurds based on the principles of Islam. He declared, “Since the Malazgirt Victory, our brotherhood has been built on the foundation of Islam. We will not allow external forces or ideological movements to divide us.”

Criticizing the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Ramanlı accused the opposition party of launching a coordinated campaign to discredit HÜDA PAR’s efforts. He claimed that CHP and other opposition elements have consistently worked to undermine genuine solutions to the Kurdish issue, fearing that a resolution would weaken their political narratives.

"The real question is: Who sincerely wants this issue to be resolved, and who benefits from its continuation? Let’s see who stands for unity and justice and who thrives on division and manipulation," he said.

‘Kemalism and Apoism Are Two Sides of the Same Coin’

Ramanlı drew a direct comparison between Kemalism and Apoism, stating that both ideologies have harmed the Kurdish population. He described them as twin brothers, suggesting that their political motivations have kept the Kurdish issue unresolved.

"Some say they refuse to engage with HÜDA PAR, yet they have no problem aligning themselves with separatist and terrorist-linked groups. Why? Because ideologically, they are more comfortable with those who reject Islamic brotherhood," he said.

He further emphasized that Kemalism, Apoism, and Baathism—which have shaped the political landscape of Türkiye and the Middle East—have collectively failed to address the real needs of the Kurdish people.

"Just as Baathism did not benefit the Arabs, neither Apoism nor Kemalism will benefit us," he stated, warning that ideological extremism only deepens divisions rather than offering solutions.

‘Islam is the True Bond Between Peoples’

According to Ramanlı, Islam is the primary factor uniting Turks, Kurds, and other ethnic groups in Türkiye. He asserted that certain secular and nationalist factions actively try to erase the role of Islam in Turkish-Kurdish unity, fearing that a faith-based approach to solving the Kurdish issue would undermine their influence.

"What has made us brothers for centuries? It is not nationalism, it is not secularism—it is Islam. The moment we say that an Islamic solution is needed, those who oppose us become uneasy. Their discomfort proves that we are on the right path," he said.

He vowed that HÜDA PAR would continue advocating for justice-based solutions to ensure that all ethnic groups in Türkiye can live together in peace and dignity.

‘CHP’s Hypocrisy on Women’s Rights’

Shifting focus, Ramanlı accused the CHP of hypocrisy regarding women’s rights, referencing past scandals involving party members. He claimed that HÜDA PAR has an immaculate record, in contrast to the CHP, which he accused of being linked to cases of violence, abuse, and misconduct against women.

"The party that falsely accuses us of being misogynistic is the same party whose former leader lost his position over an inappropriate scandal. Their ranks are filled with individuals facing serious allegations. They pretend to champion women’s rights, yet their actions tell a different story," he stated.

‘HÜDA PAR is Not a Spectator, But a Stakeholder in the Kurdish Issue’

Reaffirming HÜDA PAR’s role in advancing a solution to the Kurdish issue, Ramanlı declared that his party is not a passive observer, but an active stakeholder.

"We are not merely witnesses to this struggle—we are its rightful owners. This issue has cost thousands of lives and has cast a dark shadow over the future of generations. If the Kurdish issue can be discussed outside the framework of weapons, violence, and terror, a solution will be possible," he emphasized.

‘Those Who Want to Keep the Kurdish Issue Unresolved Will Be Disappointed’

Ramanlı concluded his remarks with a warning to those who seek to exploit the Kurdish issue for political gain.

"The defenders of the status quo, those who want to keep this issue unresolved, will ultimately fail. This denialist, Kemalist mentality that has been imposed on Türkiye for a century has poisoned not only some leftists and liberals but even some nationalists. The only path forward is to abandon this denialist approach and embrace a just, democratic, and faith-driven solution," he stated.

He promised that HÜDA PAR will continue advocating for Kurdish rights within the legal and democratic framework, emphasizing the party’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful resolution.

"We will prove that all of Türkiye’s issues—including the Kurdish issue—can be discussed and resolved within the Grand National Assembly through legal and civil politics, without resorting to violence or extremism. This is our pledge," Ramanlı concluded. (ILKHA)
