Orphans Foundation delivers winter firewood aid to families in Diyarbakır
As winter's chill sets in, the Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) has launched a critical aid initiative, distributing essential firewood to orphaned and underprivileged families in southeastern Türkiye.
The campaign aims to ensure vulnerable households can heat their homes during the harsh winter months.
Targeting families identified as living in homes dependent on stoves for warmth, foundation teams delivered loads of chopped firewood directly to their doorsteps. This practical, in-kind support is a cornerstone of the foundation's broader winter aid program, which also includes food parcels and financial assistance.
"The goal is simple: to keep the stoves of our orphaned families lit," said a foundation official involved in the distribution. "Meeting this basic need for warmth is a fundamental act of compassion that protects health and provides comfort during the coldest season."
The initiative underscores the ongoing humanitarian challenges faced by vulnerable communities in the region. By providing fuel directly, the foundation addresses an immediate and significant seasonal expense, allowing families to allocate scarce resources to other necessities.
Officials extended their gratitude to the donors and benefactors whose contributions made the aid possible. "It is through this sustained generosity that we can reach these families," the official noted. "Continued support is vital to expanding our efforts and touching more lives."
The Orphans Foundation, known for its global work supporting orphans, needy children, and at-risk families, has indicated that similar support programs will continue throughout the winter. The distribution in Diyarbakır reflects the organization's ongoing commitment to providing both seasonal and year-round assistance to those in need. (ILKHA)
