HÜDA PAR warns of deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid worsening winter conditions
HÜDA PAR Spokesperson and Batman MP Serkan Ramanlı has warned that worsening winter conditions in Gaza have pushed the humanitarian situation to the brink, with shelter options almost completely eliminated and tens of thousands of families left exposed to cold, hunger, and disease.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Ramanlı accused the Zionist occupation regime of deliberately blocking humanitarian aid and essential shelter materials from entering Gaza, while criticizing the international community for what he described as continued silence and inaction.
Ramanlı stated that heavy winter rains have rendered already fragile tent shelters unusable, flooding displacement areas and leaving families without protection amid ongoing bombardment. He stressed that the humanitarian crisis has intensified sharply as temperatures drop and basic living conditions deteriorate.
“With the worsening winter conditions in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis has deepened even further,” Ramanlı said. “In a region under constant bombardment, shelter opportunities have almost completely disappeared. Worn-out and unusable tents have been flooded by recent rainfall, leaving tens of thousands of families exposed to the cold, virtually abandoned to death. While there is an urgent need for at least 300,000 tents, the occupation regime continues to block the entry of tents and basic shelter materials into Gaza.”
The HÜDA PAR spokesperson also drew attention to the plight of children, stating that tens of thousands have been killed during what he described as genocidal attacks, while survivors now face hunger, disease, and freezing conditions.
Ramanlı criticized the international community, including countries involved in ceasefire mediation, for limiting their response to statements rather than taking concrete and binding measures to stop attacks and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. He said the occupation regime continues to violate the ceasefire through ongoing military actions and restrictions on aid.
He also condemned the stance of some international human rights organizations, singling out Amnesty International for focusing on the October 7 operation while criticizing Palestinian resistance groups.
“The reality that constitutes crimes against humanity did not begin on October 7,” Ramanlı said. “It began long before, with the occupation, the massacres in the West Bank, the seizure of Palestinian land and homes, and the decades-long control over even the most basic food entering Gaza.”
Ramanlı concluded by stating that the international community and human rights organizations should question not the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, but the occupation, blockade, and systematic policies of oppression that, he argued, made resistance inevitable. (ILKHA)
