Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and international activists near Ramallah
Several Palestinians and international solidarity activists were injured on Friday after Israeli settlers attacked residents from the village of Abu Falah and the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah, according to local sources.
The assault took place as Palestinian residents, accompanied by international activists, marched toward agricultural land in the al-Budud area to help landowners gain access to their property amid concerns over ongoing attempts to seize the land.
Witnesses said dozens of Israeli settlers confronted the group along the road connecting Abu Falah and Turmus Ayya, blocking their passage and preventing them from reaching their farmland.
According to local sources, the settlers physically assaulted Palestinian residents and international activists participating in the march. An elderly Palestinian man was reportedly injured during the attack, while several international activists suffered injuries after settlers sprayed them with pepper spray.
The incident is the latest in a series of confrontations in the Ramallah area, where Palestinian communities have reported increasing settler activity near agricultural lands and residential areas.
In a separate incident on Friday, Israeli settlers, reportedly accompanied and protected by Israeli forces, stormed the outskirts of the village of al-Mughayyir, also northeast of Ramallah.
Local sources said the settlers approached residential areas, causing alarm among residents. No injuries were immediately reported from the incident, but villagers expressed concern over the growing frequency of settler incursions into Palestinian communities.
Palestinian residents and rights advocates have repeatedly warned that escalating settler attacks and restrictions on access to farmland threaten the livelihoods of rural communities across the occupied West Bank.
The latest attacks come amid continued tensions in the region and growing concerns over violence targeting Palestinian civilians and their property. (ILKHA)
